The Embassy of Hungary in Washington, D.C. is pleased to bring to your attention LAND OF THE FREE, a commemorative dance performance series organized by the Hungary Foundation in celebration of 250 years of Hungarian-American friendship on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the United States.

Performed by the Hungarian National Dance Ensemble, the production was created by Kossuth Prize-winning artists Zoltán Zsuráfszky and Zs. Vincze Zsuzsa. The performance brings to life the story of Colonel Michael Kováts de Fabriczy, a Hungarian hussar who fought in the American Revolutionary War and played an important role in the development of American cavalry. Drawing on authentic Hungarian folk music and dance traditions, the production tells a story of freedom, courage, and Hungarian-American friendship, while also introducing American audiences to the rich traditions of Hungarian culture.
